Dear all,
You are invited to join us for the first Biophilic Living Postgraduate Networking Event, jointly hosted by Swansea University and University of Wales Trinity St David (UWTSD). This event is organised by Project REPAIR (www.biophilic.wales ), a research council funded project exploring biophilic living and nature-based solutions through a transdisciplinary approach. As part of this, we are establishing a PGR network to bring together postgraduate researchers with shared or connected interests across a wide range of disciplines.
We welcome PGRs from all disciplines who have a research interest in, or curiosity about, biophilic living and nature-based solutions. As a transdisciplinary project, we recognise that these themes connect with a wide range of fields and perspectives. Your research may directly focus on these areas, connect to them indirectly, or you may simply have a broader interest in how nature, people, places, systems, health, sustainability, creativity, technology, policy, or communities interact. We, therefore, encourage participation from across disciplines, including the arts, humanities, social sciences and STEM, including but not limited to, fine art, design, communication, policy, planning, law, circular economy, psychology, engineering, materials, architecture, construction, health sciences, green finance and business, computing, geography, biosciences, computer science, visualisation, environmental research, education, public engagement, economics, creative writing, history, languages, literature, philosophy or any other discipline or field of research.
This first session is intended as a consultation and co-creation event. The aim is to begin building a transdisciplinary community of PGRs with shared interests, and to develop a network that reflects the needs, ideas, and ambitions of its members.
Alongside a short introduction to Project REPAIR, the session will provide space for discussion and networking. We are particularly interested in hearing:
• How your research or interests connect to these themes • What opportunities or support you would value from a PGR network • What kinds of activities, collaborations, or events would be most useful • Whether the network should expand beyond Swansea University and UWTSD
We also hope to identify PGR representatives who would like to help shape and support the development of the network moving forward.
